Lord of the Flies Chapter 12

CHAPTER 12
1.) Who was the 'savage whose image refused to blend with the ancient picture of a boy in shorts and shirt'?
2.) Why would 'bathing [Ralph's] injuries have to wait'?
3.) What did Ralph do to the 'Lord of the Flies'?
4.) Who had the 'memory of a new and shameful loyalty'?
5.) Who sharpened a stick on both ends, intending to use it on Ralph?
6.) How did they try to get Ralph out of the thicket?

3. Ralph knocked it down and took the spear it was placed on.
4. Sam and Eric had the 'memory of a new and shameful loyalty'.
5. Roger sharpened a stick on both ends, intending to use it on Ralph.
6. They all threw spears at the same time to get Ralph out of the thicket.
7. Ralph's 3 different strategies for 'escaping' the hunters were to Climb a tree, Break the line, and Hide and let them pass.

1. Bill is the savage Ralph identifies

2. He was afrais the splashing of the water would give away his position to the hunters.

3. He grabbed the pig's head that was on the pike and threw it to the ground.

4. Samneric

5. Roger sharpened the stick on both sides and tried to use it on Ralph

6. They attempted to prod Ralph with their spears to force him out of the thicket

7. He tried to elude the hunters by being low and quiet. He even attepted to fight the hunters back. And finally I beleive that the last manuver was simply running for dear life.

2. It had to wait because if he went he wouldn't be able to hear if someone was coming because of the splashing of water.
3. Ralph knocked 'The lord of the flies' of the stick it was on.
4. Eric had the 'memory of a new and shameful loyalty'.
5. Roger sharpened a stick on both ends intending to use it on Ralph.
6. The hunters tried to get Ralph out of the thicket by beating Samneric.
7. His three strategies were:
1. Break the line.
2. A tree

1. The author is talking about Jack.
2. Ralph was running from the savages. They would hear him if he was in the water splashing around.
3. He took the skull off, and took the doubled edged stick as his own weapon.
4. Ralph was thinking about Sam and Eric, and whether or not they wanted to be in Jack's tribe and if they were happy with it.
5. Jack had made the stick especially for killing Ralph.
6. The savages set the jungle on fire.
7. Ralp could either run and hide very well and hope they pass and give up, or he could wait until they found him and break the line and run the back the opposite direction, or he could climb up a tree, but if he were found all the boys would have to was wait for Ralph to come down.

2.)Tending to his wounds would have to wait because Ralph needed to find a place to hide from the rest of the boys-turned-savages who were trying to locate him.
3.) Ralph ran away from the Lord of the Flies.
4.) Samneric had the 'memory of a new and shameful loyalty.'
5.) Roger sharpened a stick at both ends, intending to use it on Ralph.
6.)The boys tried to smoke Ralph out of the thicket.
7.)Ralph's first strategy was to hide up in a tree, his second strategy was to charge the cordon while it was stil thin, burst through, and run back, and his final strategy was to hide so well that the savages wouldn't even detect him.
