Cisneros has a poetic style. She incorporates both vivid imagery and spare prose. She uses both to create a picture of the narrator’s world.

Questions:
1. The personality diffrence between the two sisters is shown when Nenny asks about the wooden box and Esperanza doesn’t want to feel stupid so she pretends not to hear, but Nenny is stupid an Esperaza says and askes about it more.
2. She pretends she does not care about the music box because she does not want them to think she is stupid.
3. “It’s like all of a sudden he let go a million moths all over the dusty furniture and swan…or like marimbas only with a funny little plucked sound to it like if you were running your fingers across the teeth of a metal comb.” She used these words to describe the music coming from the music box.

Style:
1. She uses moths all over dusty furniture and teeth of a metal comb to describe the music.
2. These words create a sence of the music being loud, unexpectable, scratchy noise.
3. She describes her embarrassment of her sister asking stupid questions that she wanted to ask, but did not because she didn’t want to feel stupid.

Personal Response:
1. One time when I was younger my brother was showing me how to set up an email. He would explain it to me and I would say I get it, but when I was trying to do it I didn’t know how. I wanted to ask him how to do it again, but I felt stupid asking him when he just explained how to set it up.

1.Nenny asks alot of questions and esperanza pretends not to care.
2.She dosen't want nenny to know how stupid she is.
3.They use metephors and symoles.

1.She uses alot of literary devices to make the reading more fun.
2.She imagines alot of moths flying around the store and making noises.
3.She quikly turns around for nenny not to see her.

1.I didnt know what a computer was and my classmates did.

1. One time when I was younger I didn't understand how to tie my show.Most of the kids at school did and I felt like I was stupid and sometimes kids would make fun of me. But finally I just asked my mom to show me and she did. After that I learned how and felt a sense of power.
