1. Ruthie is Edna's daughter and Edna owns the little housing complex nextdoor to Esperanza.
2.Esperanza says that she likes Ruthie and that she is a little strange, but I'm not exactly sure what she doesn't understand about her, I thought she might be a little mentally off.
3. The two are alike in that they both kind of deny growing up.

Quotes

Ruthie could have been very successful but she never tried.

Themes
Esperanza can see how Ruthie wasted her life because she never applied herself and she should be able to learn that you can't just wait around for success to come to you.

Style

1. Esperanza describes Ruthie as a flakey and childlike adult.
2.When Ruthie looks up at the clouds and notes that they look like normal things, it shows how she appreciates the little things in life that most people don't pay a second thought to.


Personal Response
Both are important and I think you need a good balance of both because if you aren't happy now then who cares about the future? And if you spend all your time being carefree now then you won't be able to support your future.

1.Ruthie is Edna's Daughter. She is tall skiny with red lipstick and blu babushka. Edna is her mother she is the lady who owns the big building next door.
2.Esperanza says that Ruthie is the only adult who acts like a child. What she doesnt understand is why Ruthie is living with her mom if she sasys that she has a husband who is going to come and pick her up "tomorrow."
3.Ruthie and Esperanza are alike because they both like to read.

1.Ruthie could have been many things if maybe she didn't act so childish and talked more with adults more than she does with children.


Themes:
1.Ruthie is just wasting her potential because she is acting more like a child that actually acting her age as an adult. By acting like a child she can't really show her real poentials.
2.Ruthie probably lef her home because she was having problems with her husband since she keeps saying her husband is going t"Esperanza should learn that you can't always act like a kid there is a time when it is time to grow up.

1.Esperanza practically describes Ruthie as a big kid. .She explain the way she dresse and it sound as if she was describing a child.

Personal Respanse
I think it is important to find joy in our daily lives. I also think it is important to dream about the future but it is better to enjoy everyday because you don't know what could happen the day of tomorrow.

Edna is Ruthie's mother, she owns a big building and she always screams and kicks someone out.

Personal Response
It is important to find joy in your life as well as dreaming about the future. Both are important but if you aren't happy in your daily life then how you can make plans in the future but i guess it all depends on the person.
